| 5 |
Android is an open-source software stack created for mobile phones and |
| 6 | other devices. The Android Open Source Project (AOSP) is tasked with the |
| 7 | maintenance and further development of Android. Many device manufacturers have |
| 8 | brought to market devices running Android, and they are readibly available |
| 9 | around the world.
|
| 10 |
Our primary purpose is to build an excellent software platform for everyday |
| 11 | users. A number of companies have committed many engineers to achieve this |
| 12 | goal, and the result is a full production quality consumer product whose |
| 13 | source is open for customization and porting.
|
