	  knows that UCS-2 is in machine endianness but Darwin and *BSD does
	  not. Detect C library and switch accordingly.

	  live without. Remove the own internal UCS-2 conversion engine and
	  the internal iconv() engine and use the one already available in
	  PTPParams.
