58<a href="http://www.w3.org/DOM/">DOM</a> stands for the <em>Document
59Object Model</em>; this is an API for accessing XML or HTML structured
60documents. Native support for DOM in Gnome is on the way (module gnome-dom),
61and will be based on gnome-xml. This will be a far cleaner interface to
62manipulate XML files within Gnome since it won't expose the internal
63structure.</p>
64<p>The current DOM implementation on top of libxml is the <a href="http://cvs.gnome.org/lxr/source/gdome2/">gdome2 Gnome module</a>, this
