17
Mesa 10.2 Release Notes / TBD

18
19

20Mesa 10.2 is a new development release.
21People who are concerned with stability and reliability should stick
22with a previous release or wait for Mesa 10.2.1.
23

24

25Mesa 10.2 implements the OpenGL 3.3 API, but the version reported by
26glGetString(GL_VERSION) or glGetIntegerv(GL_MAJOR_VERSION) /
27glGetIntegerv(GL_MINOR_VERSION) depends on the particular driver being used.
28Some drivers don't support all the features required in OpenGL 3.3. OpenGL
293.3 is only available if requested at context creation
30because compatibility contexts are not supported.
31

43Note: some of the new features are only available with certain drivers.

67
Changes

68
69

Emil Velikove48054d2014-05-05 22:09:23 +010070
Renamed --with-llvm-shared-libs to --enable-llvm-shared-libs

71

72The option is used to control how mesa is linked against LLVM, and now
73defaults to enabled (shared linking).
74

75
76
Split libxatracker.so into a standalone library which can be used
77with any gallium driver.

78

79Previously the library was linked statically against vmware's virtual gpu
80driver(svga), whereas now it loads a shared pipe_*.so driver. Provide the
81following options during configure, if you would like support for svga driver
82--enable-xa --with-gallium-drivers=svga
83

84
85

86Note: The files are installed in $(libdir)/gallium-pipe/ and the interface
87between them and libxatracker.so is not stable.
