Avoid keeping slices count of all packets This commit avoids keeping the total slices count of the packets. This is done for multiple reasons: * The total slices count was not updated by the filtering code and it could be incorrect. * The code is simpler. * A future commit is going to split this function. The split is going to be easier if the total count of slices is not kept. Also, packets_bytes is not used anymore after a certain point, so there's no need to keep it up to date.
